Holiday Marshmallows and Homemade Hot Chocolate

Big fluffy marshmallows dipped in melted dark chocolate and dipped again in holiday sprinkles are the perfect topper for a cup of  Homemade Hot Chocolate.  Cypress greenery and silver ribbon complete the festive holiday look that’s perfect for any party.  Make these again for Valentines Day using red or pink ribbon and heart-shaped sprinkles.  These adorable and delicious marshmallows would also be great served all by themselves.

Holiday Marshmallows with Homemade Hot Chocolate

Big Fluffy Marshmallows
4-8 ounces Bittersweet Chocolate
Holiday Sprinkles
12-inch Bamboo Skewers
Leyland Cypress greenery or other holiday greenery
Wired 5/8-inch Ribbon of choice

Making the Skewer:
Place a piece of cypress on the lower end of a wooden skewer. Using a piece of wired ribbon, tie the greenery onto the skewer and then tie the ribbon in a bow. Grab a big fluffy marshmallow and put the sharp end of the skewer into it.

Carefully melt the chocolate in the microwave on high for 2 minutes in a ramekin or small bowl. Dip a little less than half of the marshmallow into the chocolate and gently pour on some holiday sprinkles. Put a plate underneath the marshmallow to catch and re-use the sprinkles. Hold the marshmallow for a couple of minutes so that the chocolate sets and doesn’t smear. Place on top of a hot cup of homemade hot chocolate and enjoy!

  1. Oh my God, I LOVE this! So very, very pretty. I’ve got some homemade hot chocolate gifts to give this year… I wonder if I have time for last-minute marshmallow substitution!

  2. Thanks Kristina! Maybe you can give the marshmallows with the hot chocolate. They’re especially good right after you dip them when the chocolate is still melty. Merry Merry to you!!!!
