Easiest Calzone Ever

Calzones don’t get any easier than this and especially since there are only 5 ingredients.  Serve with tomato sauce for dipping and add any ingredients you like.  I buy marinara sauce from my favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant and it’s the next best thing to being there.  Extra sauce freezes well and you can use it again 4 an easy spaghetti dinner another night.

This makes one big Calzone that you cut into 3 or 4 pieces depending on how hungry you are!  Start with Pillsbury Thin Crust Pizza Dough that you can pick up at any grocery store.  Mix together ricotta, mozzarella, and garlic, and pop it in the oven to bake.  Parents and kids will both enjoy this one.

Double Cheese Calzones

2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
1 16 ounce carton ricotta cheese
1 garlic clove, pressed and minced
1 13.8 ounce tube refrigerated pizza dough
extra virgin olive oil
Serve with Marinara Sauce for dipping
1. Position rack in middle of oven; preheat to 425 degrees.  Unroll dough into rectancle on rimmed baking sheet.  Add garlic to ricotta cheese and spread on lower half of pizza dough.   Top with mozzarella cheese leaving 1-inch border on sides.  Fold upper half of dough over.  Crimp edges to seal; fold corners under to form half-circle.  Bake until puffed and brown, about 17-18 minutes. Brush with oil.  Transfer to platter ande cut into 4 pieces.
